As part of our effort to bring innovative solutions to broader audience,
we did a couple of test sessions with our partners on a very famous French TV set .
Working on TV is a great challenge since TV pose difficult conditions for operating operating optical multi-touch devices: highlevel lighting environment ( flood of lights …), quick setup , FullHD resolution.
We want to share with you these few pics from this successfull experience .

This project is our interpretation of a challenge, to realise a multimedia production considering the following theme :
« The forbidden touch at the digital era » in the context of the museum of Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

« Why does a visitor want to touch a piece of art? »

Most of the time, it’s a curiosity impossible to satisfy so we tried to realize a device that allows some information and interactivity.
This device is composed with a depth-sensor,3D camera sending datas to a computer with a multimedia interface (Processing) and a videoprojector.
When a visitor is detected, the device can react by playing a video or a sound to incite him to get closer ;
when he gets close to the piece of art, some other informations can be offered
(and if this visitor is too close an « alarm » can still be given…).

This project is a collaboration between :
the Co-Design lab (headed by Annie Gentès), Cédric Honnet, student of Telecom Paris Tech,
ENSCI Les Ateliers, Le musée dees Arts Décoratifs & Tangible Display,
Vladimir Brodovitch , Jimmy Hertz.

This project was granted by the Ministère de la Culture.

Center of Black Music / MuchoWall

Center of Black Music, this Mondomix Exhibition opened its doors in December, on the occasion of the World Festival of Black Arts and Culture. This major and unifying event for the Festival, has been designed to honour the epic history of black music and to put Dakar on the map as the African cultural capital of black music.
The musical exhibition comprise 5 rooms equipped with interactive installations, film screenings and listening stations.
Last year, along with our partner Muchomedia, we installed our new MuchoWall in the Center of Black Music.
Our giant multitouch (80″) display runs the LopTouch HD software powered by LopArt.
LopTouch HD is a dynamic drawing software to create digital painting with brushes, pencils & light painting can.

We just received some pics from the inauguration of the exhibition by Abdoulaye Wade, the president of Senegal .

The Douta Seck cultural center is located in the heart of La Medina, a colorful popular neighborhood.
The exhibition will run permanently, entrance is free.

Magic by numbers

200 000 visitors, almost 2 millions fingers, over than 50 millions touch events. Our last challenge was a 3.10 meter multitouch Full HD tabletop for 20 simultaneous users in a public exhibition : a luxury brand, two art museum, 1400 peoples every day.

Our quest for public interactive displays is a daily challenge.
Always bigger displays, unlimited fingers detection, smooth touchfeeling, well designed furnitures, prompt study & manufacturing, fine finished work, compelling experience…

Technical details

More than 20 people were involved in this unique project
This massive magic box contains 5 video projectors, 5 cameras, 5 fs mirrors, 26 IR lasers, 16 ventilation fans , 2 PCs, one projection glass sheet , stainless steel structure, wood encasing with black lacquer finish ….> 350 kg ….
